$640M drug bust no arrests yet

ONE month after $640 million in cocaine was discovered in 700 sealed tins bearing the labels of Trinidad Citrus Fruit Juice, at Norfolk Port, Virginia, there has been no word regarding the arrests of any person or persons in connection with this crime.

Yesterday, Newsday contacted National Security Minister Gary Griffith for an update on the investigations into the bust. When asked if there had been any request from United States authorities for the extradition of any TT citizen in relation to the cocaine seizure or if any arrests were imminent in this matter, Griffith said, “Nope.”
